Paid with paypal now seller wants me to wire money

Hi all As the topic briefly states, i bought an item, paid with paypal, pay now option.. the day after seller sent me an email stating that he could not withdraw the money from the paypal and would like me to do a bank wire.. i answered that i had alredy paid and that he shoudl ship the item. a day later i got a message though ebay stating the same. cant withdraw paypal, please wire money.. i answered him the same.. plus i told him to either ship or cancel the win.. I have no intentions of doing a wire.. the question is.. what do i do here. ? the seller only has 2 feedbacks.. yeah, i know, maybe a little stupid of me, but i thought with the paypal protection i should be home safe.. Best regards Mads|||No no no. Do NOT send a wire. You have already paid. The sellers funds are probably on hold because they are a new seller. The seller is still obligated to send the item whether or not they have access to the money. If the seller doesn't have enough money in Paypal to buy the shipping, then they need to link a credit or debit card and pay for the shipping label that way. Refer your seller to the Paypal's Funds Availability Policy, and that will give them more information.|||"but i thought with the paypal protection i should be home safe" You are safe...unless you wire. Unless I am buying an item I need to have I don't look at feedback anymore. As a buyer I am protected and regardless of feedback numbers the vaste majority of auctions come off without a hitch.|||Do NOT wire the money. If you do not get a refund or the item, file an Item Not Received dispute with PP and get a full refund. Don't agree to a cancellation of the sale until you have the full refund showing in your PP account.~ Lucy ~ Guide to eBay Board AcronymsClick on for links to Help Pages for a new eBayer|||You are doing the right thing by refusing to wire money. There is NO buyer protection if money is wired. Your seller has few feedback and is subject to Paypal's 21 day hold of the payment , until they either prove delivery, or you leave positive feedback (don't unless you receive the item in good order) or the 21 day hold has expired. You should send this link to your seller regarding the Paypal hold. Link If your seller refuses to ship after sending them the link, then send the seller's email with full headers to Ebay and report seller is asking for inappropriate payment due to the Paypal 21 day hold Report it here Link Just wait the 10 days if nothing is received, then file the INR (item Not Received) and get your refund. Do leave an appropriate NEG stating " Paid, seller attempted to circumvent payment policy asked for wire transfer" You may also want to send the Ebay policy link to this seller now Link It is obvious your seller has never bothered to read and get familiar with any of the policies beofre listing on Ebay.|||You are protcted by paying with Paypal, if the seller does not ship as required during the 21 day payment hold by Paypal. This is WHY new or low seller feedback sellers are subject to the payment hold.|||What to do if your seller never sent the goods and payment has been made? How to cancel the paypal?||||||Thanks Lucy I appreciated 4 your feedback.|||Thanks everyone.. I sent him the link this morning.. so far i only had the 1 mails from him telling me to wire the money, nothing else.. I'll give him a couple of days, but so far its smells like a scammer to me..|||madhouse32 DO report the seller's email with full headers to Ebay here. Sellers are not allowed to ask for wire transfer, except in specific catagories Link Often when a seller hears from Ebay , they change their tune.

Wrong spellt buying.

What are the best ways to search for items in the wrong spelled criteria if you will?|||Try searching using words the way they would be misspelt? If that makes sense.|||LIKE OPHONES, VLACKBERRY, UPOD TOUCH?|||Use the asterisk "*", along with advanced search techniques (you can Google that). For example, raccoon is an oft misspelled word. So you can search for 'rac* -(race*, raci*, rack*, racq*, rach*, "rac")' to get lots of raccoon related stuff. It takes some refining to get good results. But it works well.friends Director,|||racoon related stuff?|||Exactly.friends Director,|||You can also use fatfingers dot com___________________________________ From the Motley Fool: A comment Warren Buffett made to a group of student investors in 2008. Specifically, that "The 19th century belonged to England, the 20th century belonged to the U.S., and the 21st century belongs to China. Invest accordingly."

How long do i wait to receive an item I won?

I won a BIN item almost 2 weeks ago. I paid immediately via paypal and the seller states that he will ship within 2 business days. I've tried 3 times to contact by email with no answer. How long do i wait before trying to get my money back and filing a buyer protection case?|||I'm kinda wondering the same thing. I purchased something that was $200 and have not received an email from the person at all. I've sent an email to them but how long does a person wait?|||Wait at least three weeks. Some sellers are not quick at responding to emails, some are not online all the time. There is always the possibility that they are not getting your messages. If packages are shipped by parcel post, they can take as much as a month to arrive. You each have 45 days from the date of payment to file a claim of Item Not Received (INR), which will get you your money back. Don't let the deadline pass you by or you will not get a refund. Do keep trying to reach the seller. You can get your seller's contact information from eBay and get a phone number to call if you want to. Sometimes it is on the order details page, sometimes not. Also, be sure to check that page to see if a Delivery Confirmation number (for the post office) or a tracking number for UPS/Fedex has been posted. If the seller printed a label through Paypal, the number will be on the page. If they did not use Paypal, it probably won't be there, but that doesn't mean they didn't send the package. If you must make a claim, you can use either eBay or paypal, but NOT both. If you do both, eBay considers you as trying to get a double refund and will cancel both claims, leaving youw ith nothing. We recommend going through Paypal, they are way more efficient then eBay.|||In order to answer your question , we need to look at the auction listing, know how the item shipped (method stated in listing) and how you paid. Are you counting weekends in that 2 week figure? You only count business days not weekends. Was the payment an echeck ? All of the above matters. In addition very often buyers and sellers email messages do not go thru. Did you check your spam folder to make certain the seller did not reply and the message is sitting in your spam folder? Sellers are not obligated to communicate well or when you purchase. Of course it is best if they do, but not all do.|||jbuttler777 - you bought a book that was supposed to be sent Priority Mail. You should continue to try to reach the seller as you should have received it by now. On yours, if it doesn't arrive by Monday and you haven't heard from the seller, file your claim.|||If after 14+ days from cleared payment you still have not received the item you can request seller's contact info (phone here) and give them a quick call. Link If the seller can't tell you the exact date it shipped and the delivery confirmation number, then just go ahead and file the INR (item not received) with Paypal. Hold off on any feedback, until after you see how the transaction ends, either with receipt of the item as described or a refund from Paypal. You have 45 days from the date of payment to file for a refund. 60 days from end of auction to leave feedback.|||The listing states it will be shipped flat rate w/in 2 days of receiving cleared payment. I paid via Amex on Paypal so that was immediate payment. It has been 8 business days. My messages were sent both by ebay and the seller's individual email. There are no return messages on my ebay messages or my mailbox, spam and otherwise. I guess I've been lucky up until now - I've always received items within time frame seller lists or at least have had communication if they can't ship for some reason.|||flat rate is not a mail class so it may be going by the slower parcel post since it is more economicalIt may not be your fault but it is your responsibility Silver rule "do not do to others what you would not like to be done to you"

have 2 user ids-one for buying, one for selling?

I read somewhere on these message boards that if you buy and sell, you should have 2 user ids. Is this true and if so, why?|||Yes - 1) - so that any problems that get you negged on your selling ID do not show up when you are buying ID. 2) So that, if you have difficulty with a seller, he cannot turn around and buy something from you and then neg you. 3) If you resell something you bought on eBay, the seller will not know you are making a profit on their item.|||Why, so your buyers don't know what you paid for an item , if for resale Second, if you have an issue with either buying or selling , a user won't know your seller's user id and bid to leave you a NEG. Best to have separate ids and they never interact Link Also if you post and someone does not like what you have to say, they won't know your seller ID to mess with your auctions. YES, it does happen. You can have as many ids as you like, so long as they do not interact with each other. Some use one id strictly for posting, one strictly for buyer and one strictly for selling.|||

Need help teaching my grandkids about honesty ?

I have been watching several posts about dishonest sellers and ebay's policy posting violations, some of which vanish. My grandkids watch and have access to my computer and now I see they are watching the D boards also. They have broght to my attention that from the point of view of a highschool kid that they question the honesty of not only dishonest sellers but that of ebays posting policies. For example ; the complaints that ebay does not seem to do much of anything about dishonest sellers ( the sales tax issue being charged contrary to ebay's policy ) . The other example is that of what people see as the truth which ebay seems to be at oods with. Since they don't work they don't understand that its all about the money. How do I explain to them the selfish motives of large companies at the expense of the little guy ?|||Honesty? Maybe you should explain what a sock puppet is first. You were already told what to do about the sales tax problem. Ebay has nothing to do with it, you need to report it to the state.|||highlow, Casual sellers are not always required to charge sales tax. However, some small sellers do have business accounts, and do have a tax calculator, and auto tax is included in the check out. Link Those sellers may not know the procedure, but is it honest of you to cost a seller money over sales tax? In most States items bought on line within that State, have to charge/pay sales tax on the sale..~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ I did not sell you my opinion|||How do I explain to them the selfish motives of large companies at the expense of the little guy ? SAY WHAT!!! That's one heck of an assumption. Large companies don't always shaft the little guy or have selfish motives. I question your motives. You must be a liberal who is trying to warp the mind of her grandkid! I'm a grandmother too so from one to another if you don't know how to teach honest at your age then you've got even bigger issues to deal with than trying to teach your grandkids ANYTHING!|||You teach children the golden rule "do to others what you would like to be done to you" and silver rule "do not do to others what you would not like to be done to you" And to not base their decisions on the actions of others. It is also good to teach them that there are many sides to every story and to try to see more than their own.It may not be your fault but it is your responsibility Silver rule "do not do to others what you would not like to be done to you"|||Don't have to look far to see who wears the pants in the US...it's not the government, it's big business and no one has the balls to stand up to them...have your grandchildren look at the state of the current economy there and they will get a clear picture of what big business is all about....Just a view from the outside looking in...|||Ebay has everything to do with it if it's against ebay policy, which T and S verified as well as the state attorney general and the department of revenue. Ebay is makeing the money off of the listing fees so they are complicit. There are more people than just my buying group that thinks ebay is making money off the back of the little guy both seller and buyer.( See the T and S board ) Does any one really think any large corp cares about its customers unless there is a potential for loss due to poor customer service. I retired for a huge international corp whose sole motive was to make money off the backs of its employees and customers and when they realized they were wrong was when their stock lost most of its value then they started to pay attention to the customer and actually listened to its employees . Why do you think Ebay changed the feedback rules ? Ebay pays attention to the little guy when they think they will lose money. Its not about customer service its about the money at ebay , just check the other borads. One poster was correct, the large crops rule the world . It has been observed that power sellers , in several cases had 500-600 negs or neuts. in a month but, are still selling ; how does that help the little guy? I bet the grandkids see the hypocrisy at ebay.|||I would not judge or teach my grand kids about anything based on what is said on these boards. Other than you should not believe everything you read.|||First lets be honest here.. Most people work for these big bad companies & they put food on the table of the so called little guy. If they don't make money they can't pay anyone. Ebay has thousands of people working for them that must be paid. They also have thousands of average joe stock holders that expect a return on their investment.. If you don't like what Ebay charges you to use their venue that cost them big dollars to maintain then you're free to go else where..|||wche: We see this response all the time. That is exactly the attitude that has this country in the mess its in now. The way we read the original post is that the point was that ebay was covering up activities that were contrary to the good of the community. Ofcourse there are other web sits, but the point seems be to keep ebay honest and not be driven off becuase ebay talks a lot and does little to improve the over all ebay experience.|||Why do I get the feeling that some buyers here are hunting for problems? What is the real reason for these posts? LINK !|||Think about what you are saying about "big business" for just a minute. If ALL businesses stopped doing business, selling a service or product what would happen?|||What a contrived opening post. If I was teaching honesty I don't think I would use eBay discussion boards as a tool. But, and this is a big but, if I were going to use eBay discussion boards I wouldn't overlook the problem of dishonest buyers. Your grandchildren are entitiled to a balanced truth that for each and every dishonest seller there is also a dishonest buyer. To forget this fact is to be dishonest yourself. Susan|||You have now put highlow72-10 on your blocked bidders list. Thanks for your participation.|||You guys are a riot. Seems like highlow asks a lagit question and all the people who act like clowns come out of the woodwork and pass judgment on some guy trying to get some guidence. What qualifies you to pass judgment on who is qualified to teach his gkids. The mistake highlow made was using ebay as an example. I don't buy on ebay anymore because my first buys ended up filing claims and dealingl with nuts. What does being a blocked have to do with answering this guys request for help ? Are you serious or just a misguided sole who is wrapped up in his or her own importance. Must be nice to be so perfect . If you can't offer help when asked dont indulge your ignorance. I checked out the posts on the honesty issue and related issues and it seems like this guy is concerned for his gkids as well as the ebay community as a whole. Highlow ask you pastor because you will not find help from some of the wise guys here.

how many nonpayment strikes are allowed

before ebay will suspend or otherwise take action on a bidder? I have one buyer that won 5 items from me and didn't pay for any of them, no communication, received five strikes, but is still a registered, active bidder. What gives?|||received five strikes I wished it worked that way, but unfortunately, they will only receive 1 npb strike for those 5 items. From beasts we scorn as soulless, In forest, field and den, The cry goes up to witness The soullessness of men. ~M. Frida Hartley|||Sorry, I didn't answer your question....how many nonpayment strikes are allowed Ebay likes to keep such things a secret, but sellers can set up buyer requirements to block bidders who have as few as 2 within a 12-month period. From beasts we scorn as soulless, In forest, field and den, The cry goes up to witness The soullessness of men. ~M. Frida Hartley|||The Ebay Non Pay strikes need to be from different sellers. Ebay does not actually say how many it takes to go NARU.|||DO put the non paying bidder on your Block Bidder list and set your Buyer Requirements here Link Link|||Well based on the setting buyer requirements dropdown menu provided by eBay, apparently a buyer can have up to 5 unpaid item strikes in 1 to 12 months and still be an active bidder. I can't see why they would allow you to select 5 strikes in 1 month if that were NOT an option, so that tells me that there are active bidders with 4 strikes in 1 month out there.|||I was told 3 strikes and ebay takes some sort of action? I think that they do not reveal that info and I hope that at least they monitor or keep tract of the non-payer buyer and also the buyers who have a record of filing item "Not as Described" and "Item Not Received". In the latter case a monitoring of the destination city or town involved would be useful since we all know that mail is not lost .....it is stolen. But maybe I ask too much of ebay?

Buyer increased shipping on invoice

Yesterday I purchased a Magic 8 Ball from a seller who has consistently charged excessive shipping amounts (as much as $20.00 for first class mail for an eight ball that should ship for $5-$7). I've been watching his listings for month, waiting for him to charge a more reasonable fee. Even reported him a few time. He finally dropped his shipping down to $9.01 and I bid and won the auction. He then sent me an invoice with a s&h charge of $15.01 No, I have no intention of paying it. My question for y'all is: Is there any way for me to forward this invoice directly to eBay? There is no 'Report' link on the invoice.|||itswicked..., If they sent the invoice through ebay messages, ebay can get the info they need directly. If it was sent directly through email, you can copy and paste the header info, to ebay. On your email page highlight the email, then go to the file tab on the page, click and go to properties, click on that and then click on the details tab. You can copy and paste that info, so ebay can compare the ISP # against the sellers acct.~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ I did not sell you my opinion|||Why would you buy from a seller such as this? There are quite a few results for "magic eight ball" on eBay. Why not find a seller who had reasonable shipping prices? And frankly, buying from someone you reported previously might be considered Malicious Bidding. I'd be very very careful about that in the future.|||Wow, and as I look at your account, I see you buy and sell the exact same types of things. A huge no-no, and all the more reason for the seller to consider you a competitor who is engaging in Malicious Bidding. If I were he, I'd be reporting you to eBay if you leave anything other than positive feedback with five stars in all categories. And thanks for posting, you've gone straight to my Blocked Bidder List.|||First we need to see the auction . What is the number? Next did you email the seller and ask WHY the difference? I would do this first.|||"No, I have no intention of paying it. " Contact your seller before they file the UID (unpaid item dispute) and find out why the invoice amount is different. " What does the auction state for S&H? It does not matter "what you think it should ship for" it matters what is stated in the auction or an email quote from the seller. If the auction did not state S&H clearly to your location , then a quick "can I have a firm quote to postal zip" should be done ,prior to bidding. It sounds like you are bidding to compete or create trouble for the seller. It is simple , if you don't agree with the stated S&H, then just don't bid.|||Sounds like there is more to this story|||Found auction infrequent low feedback seller. It may be an honest error on the invoice. You need to contact the seller , ask for a corrected invoice , before doing anything! You are only required to pay the $9.01 stated in the auction . Did you try to change the invoice to the correct amount? If not , I would do so now, if possible and pay the correct amount in addition to contacting the seller.|||You can also send the seller the Selling Practices link here Link New infrequent seller may not know they can not charge separate for insurance, delivery confirmation etc.|||Thanks to those who tried to help. Yes I've contacted the seller. No he has not responded. The seller has a history of overcharging S&H. He only dropped to a reasonable price after being reported to eBay. He then switched it back to original on the invoice. I have NO doubt he knows exactly what he's doing.||||||||||||Just received a second invoice from Seller. Now the S&H price is $12.01, as opposed to the $15.01 on the first invoice and the $9.01 on the auction listing. Any advice on how I can pay the advertised costs would be greatly appreciated.
